Altee Tenpenny died late Tuesday night in a car accident according to reports by Aaron Suttles of Tuscaloosa News. The former Alabama running back was just 20 years old.

Tenpenny was a highly touted recruit out of Arkansas but has had trouble follow him over the past year. He finished his two year career with the Crimson Tide with 218 rushing yards and a touchdown. He transferred from Alabama after last season and went to UNLV. He was kicked off the team after breaking team rules and made his way to Nicholls State.

Reports came out on Tuesday that Tenpenny was arrested for “possession of a firearm and discharging a weapon.” It was reported that he was killed in a car wreck after leaving the police station late that night, according to Luke Matheson of Rivals.com.

Tenpenny was just in Tuscaloosa for homecoming weekend. Several former teammates, including Tim Williams and Reggie Ragland showed their respects for Tenpenny on Twitter.

It’s safe to say that Tenpenny was still a big Tide fan and was hoping only the best for the current team. From all of us at Touchdown Alabama Magazine, our thoughts and prayers go out to Tenpenny’s family and friends.
