Alabama was back indoors Friday for its third bowl game practice session.
The Crimson Tide will more than likely begin handing out scout team jerseys for Michigan State next week, but for now, it continues with the basics. Yours truly of Touchdown Alabama Magazine providing all updates from Friday.
Notes from Friday’s practice
- Derrick Henry and Kenyan Drake led all running backs through footwork drills. Both were followed by freshmen Bo Scarbrough and Damien Harris.
- Quarterbacks and wide receivers continue working on fade routes and post patterns, but also added five-yard out routes in the mix.
- Alabama lined up in its usual nickel package during the first of two viewing periods. It later switched to its dime look, consisting of Minkah Fitzpatrick at “Star” and Ronnie Harrison at “Money.” Reuben Foster had his right hand in a club, yet still lined up at ‘backer’ in the team’s dime formation.
- Defensive coordinator Jeremy Pruitt watched the linebackers during the first viewing period and secondary in the second one.
