A hated rival for Alabama in the SEC West takes a hit, as rising junior wide receiver Trey Quinn announced Tuesday that will he transfer away from Louisiana State University.

Quinn, 6-foot-1, 197 pounds, has seen action in 25 games during the last two seasons.
The former four-star prospect chimed in with 22 catches for 276 receiving yards. His size, hands and route running capabilities drew the attention of Tigers’ head coach Les Miles as he signed in LSU’s 2014 recruiting class. A native of Lake Charles, La., Quinn was listed at No. 29 in ESPN’s 300 recruiting database. Malachi Dupre and Travin Dural both return as the team’s primary threats on the outside, yet Quinn’s departure puts a dent in LSU’s depth at wide receiver.
Alabama will meet LSU at Tiger Stadium on Nov. 5.
Dupre has not fared well against the Tide, totaling just three catches for 37 yards and a touchdown in two attempts. Dural has had some success (five catches, 102 yards, one score) but without Quinn, the Tigers must find someone who will emerge.
