The gift came late, but at least it is here.
Former Alabama running back Derrick Henry won the Doak Walker Award (nation’s top back), as he was announced at the annual College Football Awards back on Dec. 11, 2015.
Henry earned multiple awards after his 2,000-yard season (2,219), including Maxwell, Walter Camp and the Heisman Trophy. He edged out Clemson’s quarterback Deshaun Watson and Stanford’s running back Christian McCaffrey to hoist the 81st coveted bronze award.
