Trouble has entered the paradise of Alabama offensive coordinator Lane Kiffin.
The 40-year-old assistant to Crimson Tide head coach Nick Saban has mutually decided with his wife, Layla, on getting a divorce according to Fox Sports reporter Bruce Feldman.
Layla Kiffin, a University of Florida aluma, married Lane in 2004 and have three children—Landry, Pressley and Monte—together. The two had been married for nearly 12 years.
“We are fully committed to our kids’ future being our No. 1 priority,” Kiffin said to Feldman. “We will maintain an amicable relationship with respect for each other as we raise these three wonderful children. We will have no further comments and appreciate respect for our family’s privacy.”
Prior to Sunday’s news, Kiffin guided Alabama’s 2015 unit to a national title in its 45-40 win over Clemson. He has maintained balance with the Crimson Tide’s offense, averaging 36 points per game in two seasons.
