Falcon fans are ready for some defense at the Georgia Dome.
Atlanta head coach Dan Quinn bolstered up that side of the ball in getting ex-Baltimore Ravens defensive end Courtney Upshaw in free agency. Upshaw and the Falcons agreed to a one-year, $1.25 million deal on March 25, with a $390,000 signing bonus.

A short hype video was released Tuesday via Twitter, courtesy of the Atlanta Falcons as it comprised some of Upshaw’s biggest plays as a Raven. The former Alabama standout and first-team All-American (2011) totaled 183 tackles, five sacks, three forced fumbles and seven pass breakups in four seasons at Baltimore. He captured a Super Bowl championship in 2012.
Upshaw will join a Falcons’ defense that has the likes of Jonathan Babineaux, Vic Beasley, Tyson Jackson and Sean Weatherspoon. Atlanta finished 14th in run defense (105.0 ypg) and 16th in total defense (347.6 ypg) last season.
