6’5″, 236 lbs.
He has the ideal size for an NFL quarterback.
263/393, 3,110 yards, 21 touchdowns, and 8 interceptions.
A strong season for any collegiate quarterback, especially a draft prospect.
Leading your team to a national championship most certainly helps your case as a hopeful NFL draftee.
The resumé above belongs to Alabama’s Jacob Coker, who seems to be overlooked by everyone heading into the 2016 NFL draft.
Coker is trying to prove everyone wrong. The Mobile, Ala. native has been tirelessly working, in hopes of landing on NFL roster this summer. Coker displayed his skills both at Alabama’s and South Alabama’s pro days.
Scouts love Coker’s size and strong arm, but feel that his body of work is limited. Many have pinned him as an undrafted free agent, however some feel that he can be a late round draft pick. Come draft day, Coker says he may not even watch the event.
“Heck, I might not even watch it,” Coker told AL.com. “I’ll just hold on to my phone and see what happens.
His phone may ring, it may not. Whatever happens, Coker knows that he has the capabilities, size and desire to play in the NFL.
