The tension between the Alabama offensive coordinator and Tennessee football is still strong. On Friday, Lane Kiffin was on the road back to Tuscaloosa from a recruiting trip.
He traveled through Tennessee, a program that he and his father (Monte Kiffin) coached in 2009. The 2015 national championship coach decided to poke some fun at his former program by taking a photo of the Nashville/Knoxville intersection with the hashtag RTR16 on Twitter.

Kiffin, 40, coached the Volunteers to a 7-6 record in 2009.
It was a vast improvement from its 5-7 run during Phillip Fulmer’s final year (2008). Tennessee averaged 29.3 points a game.
He’s secured a 2-0 mark against the Vols since being hired to Alabama in 2014, including a close 19-14 win last season at Bryant-Denny Stadium. Kiffin and the Crimson Tide will travel to Neyland Stadium next season to face a Tennessee unit that returns a solid quarterback in Joshua Dobbs. The “Third Saturday in October” rivalry is scheduled for Oct. 15, 2016.
