TUSCALOOSA, Ala.| Alabama football enters its third straight quarterback competition this summer and for Blake Barnett, it will be the second time he pushes for an opportunity to start.
The Corona, California native was at Mission Bay High School (San Diego) on Tuesday, training with quarterback coach Matt Jope—who is a long-time assistant of Barnett’s coach, George Whitfield.
Eddie Rico, a reporter for Bama Magazine (Scout.com), was on the scene getting footage.

“He looked good out there,” Rico said. “He looks like he’s now at 215 pounds. He’s got strong legs and was dropping dimes to a couple of junior college wide receivers.”

Barnett enrolled at Alabama in 2015 under a five-star rating. He was the nation’s top-ranked pocket passer (ESPN) and top-ranked dual threat signal-caller (Rivals), prior to his arrival.
