With Memorial Day here, today is a day to commemorate and honor our national heroes. Those who served and currently serve have made the ultimate sacrifice to protect our country.
Marcus Lutrell, a former U.S. Navy Seal portrayed by Mark Wahlberg in “American Sniper”, is one of these heroes who have inspired others with their acts of bravery.
Two years ago, Alabama head coach Nick Saban, brought in Lutrell to fire up his troops before taking on the then ranked No. 1 ranked Mississippi State Bulldogs. Saban has become known for implementing the use of motivational speakers to inspire his players before big games.
Lutrell’s speech sent shivers down the spines of players, as he discussed the importance of toughness, perseverance and relying on your team to show bravery in the face of adversity.
