No action taken in Cam Robinson and Laurence Jones court hearings

Alabama fans can breathe for now, as no action was taken during the court hearings of Crimson Tide offensive tackle Cameron Robinson and reserve safety Laurence “Hootie ” Jones.

Both players were scheduled to arrive at the Ouachita Parish courthouse (Monroe, La.) on Thursday, but per Alex Byington of Times Daily– “no one was present for the arraignment.”

The two were arrested back on May 17 on two counts of drug possession (misdemeanor), while Robinson received a felony charge for being in possession of an illegal firearm. A charge of this magnitude could land the All-American left tackle in prison between a year and five years, nevertheless, Robinson can plead down to a misdemeanor with a lawyer present.

Information on a potential rescheduled hearing is set to be revealed Friday afternoon. Both players could be looking at a one to two-game suspension, depending on how the court rules.

Robinson, who’s played in 29 career games, has been named to Athlon Sports’ preseason All-SEC teams for 2016. He is projected by most media pundits as a first-round value in the 2017 NFL Draft.
