It appears there will be a USC reunion in Tuscaloosa as Fox Sports analyst Clay Travis reported last night that former USC coach Steve Sarkisian will be added to the Alabama staff as special offensive assistant.
Sarkisian was on the same staff as current Alabama offensive coordinator Lane Kiffin when they both worked for former head man Pete Carroll. Sarkisian later on became the head coach for the Washington Huskies and after five seasons, was hired to replace Kiffin as the Trojans’ coach.
Due to an unfortunate incident involving allegedly being intoxicated during a pre-practice meeting, Sarkisian was relieved of his duties in 2015.
The addition of Sarkisian should serve as a positive as he has experience working with young quarterbacks, which Alabama currently has two in Jalen Hurts and Blake Barnett. Stay tuned for more updates in the coming days.
