San Francisco 49ers DL Quinton Dial stands for national anthem, holds flag with military

With all the controversy about 49ers’ quarterback Colin Kaepernick and his take on not standing for the national anthem before games, a former Alabama standout took a moment to be patriotic.

Defensive lineman Quinton Dial joined numerous military members in holding the American Flag during the national anthem. Lindsey Thiry, a reporter for the LA Times, tweeted a pre-game photo.

Despite the conflicting views, it’s great to see an ex-Crimson Tide player take a stand with those who risk their lives–to obtain freedom for loved ones and others. San Francisco hosted the Los Angeles Rams on Monday , earning a 28-0 win. Dial finished the game with two tackles and a pass breakup.
