Trio of Tide players injured against Arkansas

TUSCALOOSA—It was not the sheer physical match-up everyone expected, however, Arkansas totaled 400 yards passing and was sharp on third downs Saturday night at D.W.R. Razorback Stadium.

After a fumble in the first quarter, running back Joshua Jacobs did not return. The same thing happened with linebacker Reuben Foster and offensive lineman Alphonse Taylor–who was replaced by Lester Cotton in the second half. When the smoke cleared, head coach Nick Saban updated the media on all three guys.

“Joshua Jacobs suffered a pinched nerve in his elbow,” Saban said. “He was cleared to play in the second, but did not play. Reuben Foster had a concussion. Shank’s [Taylor] got a minor concussion.”

Though none of the three are considered too serious, the Tide hopes to have the trio prepared for its “Third Saturday in October” showdown against Tennessee (5-1)  at Neyland Stadium next week.
