Game truly recognizes game.
Only one touchdown was needed in Saturday’s defensive slugfest between Alabama and LSU, and it came from the most composed player on the team—true freshman, Jalen Hurts. The 6-foot-2, 209-pound quarterback led the Crimson Tide on its scoring drive to begin the fourth quarter. Hurts took the offense 90 yards in 12 plays, with the biggest effort coming on a third and long (nine yards) situation. Instead of panicking when option number one wasn’t available, he pulled the ball down and trusted his athleticism on a 21-yard scamper.
Hurts would convert a trio third downs on the team’s final scoring drive, to set up a 25-yard field goal attempt for Adam Griffith. He ended the game with 114 yards rushing on 20 carries, delivering Alabama to a 10-0 victory and its sixth straight win over the Tigers. One player that noticed Hurts’ toughness was the leader in this year’s Heisman clubhouse, Louisville’s quarterback Lamar Jackson. Jackson definitely had time to watch an epic Southeastern Conference fight, after his squad routed Boston College 52-7 on the road.

After nine games, Hurts stands with 1,685 passing yards, 635 rushing yards and 22 total touchdowns.
He and the Tide will return home for its final three regular season games.
