After winning the first-ever Joe Moore Award last season, Alabama’s offensive line was announced as one of three finalists for the honor this year. On Tuesday, the Foundation of Teamwork broke the news.
Named after one of the best coaches in college football, the Joe Moore Award is presented to the nation’s finest offensive line unit that best displays toughness, effort, teamwork, consistency, technique and finishing.
Assistant coaches Brent Key (guards, centers) and Mario Cristobal (tackles) have aided this year group to having the top-ranked total offense (480 ypg) and scoring offense (39.4 ppg) in the Southeastern Conference.
The Crimson Tide’s offensive line has cleared the way for the conference’s second-best rushing attack (2,951 yards, 24 touchdowns). Behind Bradley Bozeman, Cam Robinson and Jonah Williams, true freshman quarterback Jalen Hurts has had a record-setting year. He’s been responsible for 33 touchdowns, while totaling 3,294 yards. Joining Alabama as finalists are the offensive line units for Ohio State and Iowa.
This year’s winner will be announced on Friday, Dec. 9 at the College Football Hall of Fame in Atlanta.
