TUSCALOOSA, Ala.–Winning is exciting no matter who you are, but when a team can keep the interest of its fans while expounding on being dominant—another side of entertainment has been reached.

Now, enter Jalen Hurts into the conversation.

He’s accounted for a season that most freshmen can only fantasize about. Regardless of mistakes made in the passing game, Hurts has captivated the attention of fans, coaches, teammates and media personnel around college football. Through 13 games, he’s guided Alabama to an undefeated season, a conference title and the No. 1 seed heading into the College Football Playoff. The Channelview, Texas native chimes in with 2,592 passing yards, 841 rushing yards and 34 total touchdowns, while posting a completion mark of 65.3 percent.

In breaking down all four teams in the playoff, Sports Illustrated unveiled its cover for Alabama football on Tuesday. The illustrious work has the Tide’s dread-headed assassin escaping a Florida defender, during its 54-16 victory over the Gators in the Southeastern Conference Championship Game.
