Alabama’s Robinson, Stewart, Humphrey to declare for 2017 NFL Draft

TUSCALOOSA, Ala.– After much speculation, Alabama football’s Cam Robinson (junior), ArDarius Stewart (junior) and Marlon Humphrey (redshirt sophomore) are the three players that will declare for the NFL Draft.

The trio accompanied its head coach, Nick Saban, to the Mal Moore facility on Friday to make their professional goals known. While Robinson and Humphrey enrolled at Alabama in the 2014 signing class, Stewart arrived in 2013 as a four-star recruit and former high school quarterback.

“We’re very pleased, happy and proud to have press conferences like this,” Saban said. “Appreciate what these guys have done for our program. These guys are always welcome back.”

Robinson, a native of Monroe, La., started in 44 career games.

The 6-foot-6, 310-pound offensive tackle cleared the way for 28 100-yard rushers, including two 1,000-yard gainers in Derrick Henry (2015) and Damien Harris (2016). He aided Henry to the Heisman Trophy in 2015, setting the edge for his school-record 2,219 yards and 28 touchdowns on 395 carries.

A five-star prospect, Robinson blocked for 11 100-yard rushers this season. His efforts earned him the Outland Trophy, SEC’s Jacobs Blocking Trophy and a unanimous All-American status.

Stewart, who hails from Fultondale, Ala., earned a starting role at receiver for a second straight year.

He brought in 54 passes for 864 receiving yards and eight touchdowns through 12 games. The 6-foot-1, 204-pounder was one of Jake Coker’s favorite targets in the Crimson Tide’s national championship run in 2015.

A four-star recruit, Stewart registered four 100-yard games during the 2016 season.

Humphrey, a native of Hoover, Ala., started in 30 career games.

The five-star cornerback amassed 36 tackles, three tackles for loss, five pass breakups, a forced fumble and two interceptions (one touchdown) through 15 games. His tenure ends with 81 tackles, including 6.5 for loss, eight pass breakups, two forced fumbles and three interceptions.

Humphrey will be forever remembered for recovering Adam Griffith’s onside kick, to seal the deal against Clemson in the 2016 College Football Playoff national title game. Robinson, Stewart and Humphrey all won three Southeastern Conference championships (2014-16) and a national title in their careers at Alabama.
