One of Alabama’s 10 participants for the NFL Combine will not encounter drills.
Reuben Foster, the 7th-ranked draft prospect and top-ranked inside linebacker, will not workout at the combine due to having rotator cuff surgery. ESPN’s NFL Insider Adam Caplan broke the news Monday morning via Twitter, stating that Foster’s recovery time is about four months.

The Auburn, Ala., native dropped 15 pounds (240 to 225) before the 2016 college football season, to improve his lateral quickness as a three-down player. A feared signal caller, he totaled 115 tackles, 13 tackles for loss, five sacks, eight quarterback hurries and two pass breakups through 15 games.
Foster is expected to attend the combine, but he’ll take part in the weigh-in, interviews and cheering on his former Tide teammates. He’s projected to be taken within the first 10 picks of the upcoming NFL Draft.
