Tide loses director of football operations

Cedric Mason - Touchdown Alabama Magazine

Now, the big boys of Alabama football are starting to move elsewhere.

After losing four coaching assistants this offseason, head coach Nick Saban and the Crimson Tide will be looking for a new director of football operations. According to Matt Zenitz of AL.com, Justin Dickens has left the program. His name no longer appears on the team’s staff directory website via Roll Tide Athletics.

Dickens was hired in 2015 to replace the departed Joe Pannunzio and in his lone season, he witnessed the Tide secure a Southeastern Conference championship and a Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl Trophy in the 2016 College Football Playoff. Prior to Alabama, he served as director of football operations (2014) and media relations for at the University of Michigan. Before taking on the collegiate level, Dickens was the publicity manager for the Indianapolis Colts from 2006-10.
