He’s quickly climbing the corporate ladder within the program.
Following his service as Alabama football’s assistant player personnel developer and assistant strength and conditioning coach, Denzel Devall was promoted to director of player development last week per Marq Mitcham of the Bastrop Daily Enterprise.
While his recruitment duties are limited to on-campus visits, Devall’s responsibility consists of evaluating film, developing players and recruiting. The Bastrop, La., native was highly involved in the Crimson Tide signing wide receiver Devonta Smith (Amite), defensive linemen Isaiah Buggs (Ruston/Mississippi Gulf Coast CC) and Phil Mathis (Neville), and linebacker Chris Allen (Baton Rouge) from Louisiana to its top-ranked 2017 class.
Once a four-star prospect, Devall played in 49 career games at Alabama.
He recorded 83 total tackles, 14 tackles for loss, six sacks, 13 quarterback hurries, three pass breakups and two forced fumbles from 2012 to 2015. Devall would earn three Southeastern Conference championship rings and two national championship rings during the 2012 and 2015 seasons.
