It took 16 picks before the first Alabama standout came off the draft board – Marlon Humphrey, Baltimore Ravens – yet much respect was shown to a quarterback that delivered the Crimson Tide’s final opponent to a College Football Playoff National Championship a season ago.
After a stellar career at Clemson University and a senior year in which totaled 4,593 passing yards and 50 total touchdowns, (nine rushing) Tigers’ signal caller Deshaun Watson would have to wait until the 12th overall pick Thursday night before his name was called by the Houston Texans.
Despite being a national champion, two quarterbacks were picked ahead of Watson.
While many Tide fans, current players and some analysts were befuddled by the decisions made in round one, a few Alabama players took to social media to show respect for Watson.

The fact that 2 QBs have been drafted over Deshaun Watson is absolutely unreal..

Truth be told Deshaun Watson deserved to be the 1st QB picked.
