TUSCALOOSA, Ala.– Alabama fans will anticipate taking over brand-new Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta on Saturday, Sept. 2, 2017, as the Chick-fil-A Kickoff Game between the University of Alabama and Florida State University is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. (CT) via ABC/ESPN family of networks.
While the Crimson Tide enters as the reigning Southeastern Conference champion, Florida State will enter the 2017 season looking to build off a 10-3 record from 2016. Both schools return much talent on offense and defense, including starters at the quarterback position in sophomores Jalen Hurts and Deondre Francois.
Alabama and the Seminoles will meet for the fifth time in program history, with the Tide holding a 2-1-1 advantage in the series. Florida State emerged victorious in the last contest between both programs, defeating Alabama 21-14 in 2007 (Nick Saban’s first year) in Jacksonville, Fla.
