A great defensive tackle is very pivotal to a having a stellar defensive front.
Players in this role can stop the run, put pressure on the quarterback, and overall help control the line of scrimmage. Speed and footwork continues to be one of the deciding factor in becoming a good or great tackle.
At 300 pounds one might think you can’t possibly be able to run that fast, right?
Coynis Miller continues to proves that this assumption is completely false. At 6’1″ and 300 pounds he is able to rush past offensive lineman and brutalized offensive skill players. Not only is he big; he is very athletic. Miller has been seen on numerous occasions line up at quarterback and run the ball. Yes, at quarterback in a wildcat formation and he is able to rip off nice size runs at that. He is also able to run routes as a wide receiver and be a very effective option for his quarterback. This guy is an all around football player.
He is a four-star recruit according to 247Sports and ESPN, the 9th player in the state of Alabama per 247 Sports. Miller is a product of P.D. Jackson-Olin High School in Birmingham, Ala., the Alma mater of former Crimson Tide wide receiver/return specialist David Palmer.
It has been reported to ESPN that Miller does run a 5.02 40, but you can tell from game film that he can definitely lower that time if he runs it again after some additional hard work. Surprisingly, he only has about 13 offers, but they are from teams that have been ranked pretty high in defensive production over the last couple of years.
Miller has been offered by five Southeastern Conference schools: Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Ole Miss and Georgia, yet he’s visited Alabama and Auburn the most. According to his social media handle, he revealed last week on how close he is to making a commitment decision.
Might be committing a little sooner than I thought 😬

His recruiting battle is looking like it’s going to come down to in state rivals Auburn and Alabama. Both schools have produced great defensive lineman in the past. Whoever lands him will get a huge addition to their team.
