Nick Saban, Tide players take part in annual senior and leadership outing

John David Mercer-USA TODAY Sports

He knows how to win, but more so than that, Alabama football head coach Nick Saban knows how to connect with his players. The 65-year-old had a select group of seniors and a few others at his lake house in Tuscaloosa for the Crimson Tide’a annual senior and leadership outing last week.

With the song “Take It Easy” from the Eagles in the background, Alabama football’s Twitter account showed a video of players – including Jalen Hurts, Rashaan Evans, Da’Ron Payne, Minkah Fitzpatrick, Bradley Bozeman and Calvin Ridley – smiling while riding jet skis, inner tubing and having dinner. As Saban enters his 11th year with the Tide, he intends on this group returning to the College Football Playoff and winning a national championship.

It’s great to see the players having fun, especially with summer workouts kicking back up. Alabama will have a difficult task the start the 2017 season, as it will lock horns with Florida State in Atlanta on Saturday, Sept. 2.
