Tide spotlight: Retooling Alabama’s defensive line for next season

Alabama will not replace the type of leadership that defensive linemen Jonathan Allen and Dalvin Tomlinson brought to the front group; however, head coach Nick Saban and the Crimson Tide can only hope for its next wave of studs will build off the production of its predecessors.

Senior Da’Shawn Hand and junior Da’Ron Payne have played a lot of football at the university, and both are expected to step into a leadership role. While the duo combines for nine sacks and 16 tackles for loss in their careers, both Hand and Payne need help from emerging young talent.
