The Way It Is: Who emerges as Alabama’s No. 2 cornerback next season?

Cedric Mason - Touchdown Alabama Magazine

After collecting 81 tackles and five interceptions through two seasons as a starting cornerback, Alabama’s Marlon Humphrey was selected in the first round of the NFL Draft. Despite returning Anthony Averett as a defender, the Crimson Tide is in search for a No. 2 outside cover man.

Should it decide to leave Minkah Fitzpatrick at safety (seven games, 2016), senior Tony Brown is one of few names that may get the nod at island corner. Along with him, Alabama has Trevon Diggs, Shyheim Carter, Aaron Robinson and a lot of young players. Yours truly of Touchdown Alabama Magazine was live Thursday on The Way It Is, looking at the Tide’s secondary and providing reasons on why Brown should start at corner.
