Alabama has landed one of the top defensive backs in the country. The day did not start off promising for The Crimson Tide after one of their top DB targets, Kyler McMichael, committed to Clemson. Armour-Davis washed away that disappointment when he made his announcement on Friday, per a report by AL.Com.
He is a 4-star recruit according to both ESPN and 247 Sports. 247 Sports has him listed as a the #3 player in the state of Alabama.
Armour-davis is a complete athlete. He could easily be seen as a player that can play both sides of the ball. His coverage skills are completely remarkable. He is a serviceable defensive back that could be plug into multiple spots in Alabama’s secondary.
This guy is one of those defensive playmakers. Every interception that he catches is capable of turning into a pick six. Players like this are complete game changers. That is exactly what Alabama wants on their defense, who scored many defensive touchdowns on last year. The 6’0″ 260-pounder is an exciting player that Tide fans should should really be pumped about landing.
He is a product of Saint Paul’s Episcopal School in Mobile, Alabama, the high school of former Alabama quarterbacks’ Jake Coker and AJ McCarron.
Armour-davis commitment makes him the first defensive back prospect to join the Tide’s 2018 recruiting class. He is the 5th player overall. Alabama’s recruiting has been predicted to pick up for awhile now. This could be just the beginning of some huge news for the Tide.
