With Southeastern Conference media days in the books and 44 days separating fans from college football, the remainder of preseason award watch lists for 2017 have been revealed. For Alabama head coach Nick Saban and the Crimson Tide, the upcoming fall is about redemption.
Excluding Lou Groza (top kicker) and Johnny Unitas Golden Arm (outstanding senior quarterback) awards, Alabama had at least one player named to each preseason list. The Bronko Nagurski Trophy, which is presented to the nation’s best defensive player via Football Writers Association of America, carried four Tide standouts on its list.
Along with Nagurski, the Maxwell Award landed four Alabama players.
Although personal accolades mean little to the men of crimson when the ultimate goal is a national championship; it’s still nice to be recognized among your peers. Listed below are the Tide players on preseason award watch.
