Alabama running back Damien Harris slimming down, gaining speed

Alabama running back Damien Harris (No. 34) carries the ball in open space versus University of Southern California in 2016: Cedric Mason - Touchdown Alabama Magazine

Sophomore B.J. Emmons probably would have seen more carries in the upcoming season, but his departure has not stopped the University of Alabama football program from moving ahead.

Alabama head coach Nick Saban returns two draft-eligible juniors in the backfield, including one who’s been working on gaining more breakaway speed. Damien Harris, a native of Richmond, Ky., was a five-star prospect from Madison Southern High School in the 2015 recruiting cycle.
