Prior to winning two Grey Cups in the Canadian Football League and serving as defensive line coach at Austin High School (Decatur, Ala.), Juwan Simpson was a linebacker at the University of Alabama during the Mike Shula era.

His name wasn’t as big as DeMeco Ryans’ or Freddie Roach’s; nevertheless, Simpson was part of a solid Crimson Tide defense in the 2005 season. On Monday’s airing of The Way It Is via Fox Sports Shoals, Simpson joined Matt Suleski and yours truly of Touchdown Alabama Magazine to talk about his time at both Alabama and the CFL – along with his duties as an assistant high school coach.
