Either Devin White is really confident this time around, or it is another example of Nick Saban’s “rat poison” statement in which could have Alabama in prime position to destroy LSU.
Whatever the case may be, the Tigers’ sophomore linebacker took part in media interviews today – as we lead into the team’s annual November battle against the Crimson Tide. If someone chose to stick to the script, Auburn and Tennessee would serve as the little brothers to Alabama in football. Fan bases for both schools believe their teams have what it takes to beat the Tide, unfortunately the outcome usually end with Saban’s bunch proving superiority.
LSU has defeated Alabama just three times in 11 matchups, with the most embarrassing defeats coming in the 2012 BCS national title game and 2012 regular season contest at home.
Regardless of the numbers, the Southeastern Conference’s Co-Defensive Player of the Week following a 27-23 win over Auburn said ‘it’s time for LSU to beat Alabama up.’
“It’s like having that older brother that you haven’t been able to beat up,” White said to Mike Gaither, who covers the Tigers for WBRZ News in Baton Rouge, La.
“We are bigger, stronger and now is the time.”

The jury is out on whether White understands the consequences of what happens to programs that call out Saban’s teams. Both Florida State and Vanderbilt took a crack at it, and both ending up not just losing the game, but currently losing their respective seasons. On the field, White leads LSU in tackles (80) and tackles for loss (7.5) while having 2.5 sacks and three pass breakups.
The most recent win for the Tigers over Alabama came in the 2011 regular season.
