Some good news for Alabama football.
After getting work done over its bye week, the Crimson Tide received positive updates on senior defensive end Da’Shawn Hand and sophomore running back Josh Jacobs as head coach Nick Saban took the podium this afternoon for his game week presser on the LSU Tigers.
While Hand missed the last three contests due to a left knee injury, Jacobs was spotted wearing a boot following an ankle issue after the Tennessee game.
According to Saban, both guys responded well to treatments and have been by Alabama’s medical staff for this week.
“Both guys will practice today,” Saban said. “We’ll just have to go day-to-day with them and see how they progress through the week.”
Depending on how both players feel in the next couple of days will determine on whether they’ll suit up and play against the Tigers at Bryant-Denny Stadium.
Hand has not seen action since the Tide’s matchup against Ole Miss on Sept. 30, and as for Jacobs, he missed some time earlier in the year because a hamstring problem that occurred in the latter portion of fall practice.
Alabama hopes to have both men contributing on Saturday.
