TUSCALOOSA, Ala.– It had to fend off Mississippi State in a 31-24 victory, but that did not stop the College Football Playoff committee from thinking highly of Alabama.
During Tuesday’s airing of rankings via ESPN, the committee moved the Crimson Tide into being the No. 1 overall seed (after it spent the first two weeks at No. 2). Losses to both Georgia and Notre Dame dropped them out of the top four, as they fell to Nos. 7 and 8 respectively.
Alabama looks to be the lone program that has been a fixture in the playoff during all four years of its existence.
Now standing at 10-0, head coach Nick Saban the Tide prepare for Mercer this week at Bryant-Denny Stadium while keeping a look on Auburn – its matchup in two weeks.
With it joining Clemson, Miami and Oklahoma in the top four, listed below are all 25 schools in the rankings alongside Alabama.
