Jalen Sheds the Dreads, But Not the Winning Attitude

Jalen Hurts has shed the dreads, but not his winning attitude. Hurts has been nothing but magnanimous in his praise of Tua Tagovailoa’s play in the second half of the Alabama game and his attitude has shown nothing but his team first winning attitude.

While history will determine if the national championship game was Tua’s coming out party or just a renewed battle for the starting job, Jalen Hurts is and will always be a winner. He is a natural athlete with great skills in many areas and the only thing we know for sure at this point is that Saban feels that Tua may be the best hope of a throw first, get the defense from keying on the run defense offensive spark.

On his twitter feed, Hurts said, “The Deal Was If We Won The Natty, The Locs Had To Come Off lol. New Look . Same Mission . Grind Hard And Improve Everyday ! #AllGlory2God    ”

So it doesn’t sound like Hurts has any other plans other than to return for his junior season with his nose on the grindstone. While many have speculated that Hurts would be uneasy going to second string and may not stay around, that indeed is just speculation. Hurts may win back the starting job in competition, accept being a situational playing backup quarterback, switch to take roles at other positions or many other possibilities.

The only thing we’re sure of is that he loves Alabama, the team and fans and that it’s a two way street where he is admired and respected right back.

This is sure to be a story line for the winter that won’t go away, but at this point all we know for sure is that this is one heck of a team player with the right winning attitude.
