Seth McGowan received an offer from Alabama on May 3 and it was not what he was expecting.
“I felt phenomenal when I found out I got an offer from Alabama,” McGowan said. “It was very unexpected.”
After a great talk with @CoachJeffBanks, I am beyond blessed by my Lord and Savior to have received an offer from the University of Alabama… #RollTide ! pic.twitter.com/n0A2tOdpLD

McGowan is a 4-Star running back out of Mesquite, Texas and is a product of Poteet High School. His latest offer from Alabama puts the Tide in a good position.
“Alabama definitely is placed high on my list,” McGowan said. “Their offer is getting me prepared for even more recruiting and places emphasis on how diligently I have to take the recruiting process.”
McGowan is a tough runner with breakaway speed. This kid is a playmaker that is going to exploit any open hole he can find. He also has great size at 6-feet and 210 pounds, which enables him to break tackles if defenders do not use proper technique and wrap him up.
The Texas-native was notified about his Alabama offer by Alabama’s special team coach, Jeff Banks. Banks is continuing to tap into the connections he gained at Texas A&M as he has offered some of the top talent in Texas in hopes he can convince them to leave the Longhorn state and come to Alabama. He will get a chance to show McGowan what all Alabama has to offer him in the near future as McGowan plans to visit this Summer.
The Tide would be getting a guy with some great potential if they can pull in McGowan.
