It was a strong news week for the University of Alabama football program, as the Crimson Tide and University of Southern California confirmed a rematch for the 2020 AdvoCare Classic at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
This marks the second time Nick Saban will face Clay Helton in a matchup, while Alabama will have its tenth marquee season opener since 2008.
In recruiting news, the Tide received a verbal commitment from Will Reichard – the nation’s top-ranked kicker from Hoover High School. The 6-foot-1, 185-pounder expects to sign in the program’s 2019 class and is reported to have an incredible leg, according to both Chris Sailer’s and Kohl’s kicking and punter recruiting networks. Reichard was a vital piece in the Buccaneers winning a state title in 2017 and he’s listed as the nation’s No. 2 kicker, per 247Sports.
Also, Athlon Sports released its all-conference teams and 11 Tide players were recognize to represent the Southeastern Conference.
