All it took was one sentence from Nick Saban and a vote from the Southeastern Conference’s law-making officials to have an alteration to one of the biggest rules in college football over the weekend.
The graduate transfer rule was one in which student-athletes from one SEC school could not transfer to another program within the conference, unless for extenuating circumstances.
As of last week, not only can players transfer within the conference but they would also be eligible for immediate playing time. With the change in place, college football fans can prepare themselves for the madness that will be the SEC. In this edition of In My Own Words, yours truly of Touchdown Alabama Magazine recaps the graduate transfer topic from SEC’s Coaches spring meetings in Florida and how the Crimson Tide will benefit from the rule change.
