Former Alabama football players, John Parker Wilson and Rashad Johnson, are returning to Tuscaloosa with a different goal in mind this time around.
Alabama football has announced that Wilson will serve as the new color analyst and Johnson will take on sideline reporting duties. Chris Stewart has been promoted to broadcast host.
“We are excited to add John Parker Wilson and Rashad Johnson to our broadcast team, which allows us to promote Chris Stewart to broadcast host,” Vice President & General Manager of Crimson Tide Sports Marketing, Jim Carabin said. “The addition of Wilson and Johnson will bring a lot of energy to the broadcast, while their knowledge of the game, and Alabama football in particular, will provide great insight for our listeners.”
Wilson started at quarterback at Alabama for three years. He is the school’s all-time leader in completions with 665. He threw for 7,924 passing yards and 47 touchdowns during his time in Tuscaloosa.
Honored and excited to officially be back with The Tide. This is a dream come true after growing up listening to Eli and Kenny every Saturday in the fall. #rolltide https://t.co/sUeacvYLOR

Johnson came to Tuscaloosa as a walk-on running back and was moved to defensive back. He earned All-SEC honors during his senior season and played 8 years in the NFL.
What can I say, truly humbled and excited to step in to this new opportunity this fall. As always #GodWinS #RollTide https://t.co/juYa8nit8I

“We are thrilled to welcome back two of Alabama’s greatest to our football radio broadcasts in John Parker Wilson and Rashad Johnson,” Alabama Director of Athletics Greg Byrne said. “They are both extremely knowledgeable when it comes to the sport and have great passion for the Crimson Tide. John Parker and Rashad are tremendous additions to our CTSN crew, and we look forward to hearing them, Eli Gold and Chris Stewart, on Saturdays.”
This new broadcast team will get their first taste of action when the Tide takes on Louisville for their season opener.
