Since arriving in Tuscaloosa as the head football coach of the Alabama Crimson Tide, Nick Saban has made Alabama the face of college football. The Crimson Tide has won five national championships in nine years and no school has come close to the success of Alabama. In addition to the championships, Alabama football constantly sends stars to the NFL and many of the players become first team all Americans and All-SEC yearly. The university has decided to build on the excellence of their athletics program and begin a ten-year renovation known as The Crimson Standard.
The Crimson Standard is ten-year, $600 million initiative that will transform Alabama’s facilities and provide the environment necessary to recruit and train the best student-athletes and position the athletics programs as nationally competitive in the future.
In regards to Bryant Denny, there will be a renovation of seating arrangements. Three new club areas and 3,826 new premium seats will be added, new skyboxes will be included on the east U1 level and west side Founders Suites. In addition to the expansion of seats and addition of skyboxes, the press box will be relocated. In regards to the football players, the recruiting area will be renovated, and the team area will be improved. Finally, for the fans, there will be expanded concourses to allow for better traffic flow and renovated concession areas and main concourses to provide an improved game-day experience for fans at Bryant-Denny Stadium.
Nick and Terry Saban have stated that they are going to donate $1 million for the renovation and are helping to give back to the community they have helped for the past decade.
In addition to the renovations for Bryant Denny Stadium, there will be improvements for Coleman Coliseum and the Mal Moore Athletic Facility. The Crimson Standard is set to make sure Alabama stays at number one in the future.
