Some Funny What Ifs for the College Football Playoffs…

Nick Saban has a wicked sense of humor, but could even Nick try and pull of some of these “What Ifs”? Well he did do it once with Clemson.

I'd pay money to see just a few of these happen. (Photo- Screenshot)

Some Funny What Ifs for the College Football Playoffs…

By: Larry Burton

What if? Boy, you can finish that sentence a lot of ways, but with the days coming closer to the College Football Playoffs, let’s look a few unlikely, but funny ways to finish that sentence.

What if Saban just wants to screw with Oklahoma who is having to prepare for both Jalen and Tua’s style and decides to start Mac Jones just to tick them off? Then after they try and adjust, we just start rotating quarterbacks all game? Now that would be funny…

What if Jalen announces he’s going to Oklahoma next season to take over for this year’s Heisman, leads them to the championship and then announces he’s sitting out the bowl games to prepare for the NFL? Talk about Oklahoma being screwed…

What if Nick Saban offside kicks the opening opening kick just to let Oklahoma know they’re going to get 70 hung on them?

What if Nick Saban decides to go for it on fourth down every time, (if Oklahoma can hold them to a fourth down), just to show them he has absolutely no faith in their defense to stop them four times in a row?

What if Damien Harris starts at quarterback. I’ve actually seen Damien throw a football, he’s pretty good. Trot him out, line him up in wildcat on the opening series, let them stack the box and have him hit Jeudy for a TD on the first play. Heck, I’d pay money to see that… That may even be funnier than starting Mac Jones to screw with them…

What if someone shows up on Gameday with a sign that says, “I’ll call your Heisman and raise you a Natty!” Heck, I hope I just gave somebody the idea…

Or what if somebody else has a sign that says, “Does it really matter who starts at quarterback? Bama by 30!”

Ok, last sign idea… What if someone had a sign that said, “Hey Okies, was it better to lose a playoff game than to win a bowl game?”

What if Nick Saban sees this and says, “Oh God, more rat poison.” Well I’m on a two month vacation now and won’t be at the press conference and he’ll have forgotten it by the time he sees me again. I hope…

With all the serious writing going on, it just just seemed time for a little “What If”…
