Four options to replace Deonte Brown for Alabama vs. Oklahoma

Bryan Lynn - USA TODAY Sports

Some disappointing news was reported from the camp of Alabama football on Monday, as the trio of Elliot Baker, Deonte Brown and Kedrick James did not make the trip to Miami (Fla.) for the Orange Bowl due to a “violation of team rules” — according to a statement from Nick Saban.

While Baker and James are reserves, Brown is the lone starter of the three facing this issue.

The 6-foot-4, 344-pound sophomore became the starter at left guard in Alabama’s matchup versus Tennessee, in which it captured a 58-21 win.

After some inconsistent play from Lester Cotton, Brown solidified the Crimson Tide’s offensive line and had it playing with more toughness.
