Marcus Banks announced his verbal commitment to Alabama on Saturday, Jan. 5 at the All-American Bowl.
Banks is a 4-Star defensive back out of Texas. He de-committed from LSU on Oct. 17 and Alabama immediately became a major player for his commitment. He spoke to yours truly in April and kept it short and sweet when he spoke on the Tide.
“Alabama speaks for itself,” Banks said.
The Crimson Tide made some moves with Banks last Summer after he released his top 4 in April. All signs pointed to him choosing the Tide, but a visit to Baton Rouge seemed to have the stole the Texas-native’s heart and lead him to commit to LSU On June 8. The news was not so good for the Tigers in October when Banks announced his de-commitment after taking an official to Tuscaloosa less than a month before.
Alabama’s 2019 recruiting class has a total of 4 verbal commits with its latest addition after signing 23 recuits during the early signing period. Banks joins 4-Star defensive backs: Demarcco Hellams, Christian Williams, and Brandon Turnage as Tide secondary commits and signees. This class could match up with the impressive class Alabama pulled in during the last recruiting cycle.
