He was not himself in Alabama’s sixth game of the 2018 season against Arkansas.
Trevon Diggs, who had grown so much throughout the summer, was burned on plays versus the Razorbacks that did not get by him during the five previous matchups. Despite having what was then a team-high six pass breakups, news surfaced on the junior sustaining a serious foot injury.

Former junior college star, Saivion Smith took his place in the last nine games as Diggs would watch his teammates win a Southeastern Conference championship, but fall short of its ultimate goal in the College Football Playoff. The 6-foot-2, 199-pounder said on Twitter that he is returning to school for his senior year.
He provides the Crimson Tide will experience and depth in its secondary; however, the best news is how well his foot has progressed since the injury.
Per his Instagram account, Diggs revealed some positive news.
His decision to return gives him an opportunity to put everything together in terms of technique and production for National Football League scouts. While the Maryland native and former four-star already shows the ability to jam and frustrate receivers, using eye discipline and baiting quarterbacks into questionable throws is the next stage of his development.
He will practice on Tua Tagovailoa, but the team is excited to have Diggs back.
