Parr is a 4-Star offensive lineman. He stands at 6-3 and weighs 280 pounds. The Tide’s offer is one he said he never thought he would get.
“It is something I never thought I was going to be able to experience,” Parr said. “Alabama has been on top for many years and to think that I have an offer is something I am truly blessed to have. ”
The Texas commit was notified of his Alabama offer by Alabama’s special teams’ coach, Jeff Banks. Banks has used his connections with the Texas area to recruit for the Crimson Tide and has had some success. He visited Parr in Helotes, Texas, on Tuesday before offering him later that night.
“Coach Banks came to my school and later that night I called him,” Parr said. “Then he let me know I received an offer to The University of Alabama.”
The 280-pounder has not had much contact with Alabama before his offer. His has not taken a visit to Tuscaloosa, but he did have an opportunity to get a quick glance at the University of Alabama’s campus once.
“I have not thought about visiting until now,” Parr said. “I got to see how nice the campus was driving through on my way back from a camp, that I had in North Carolina.”
Parr has experience at playing both tackle and guard. He knows how to use his quick feet to be an effective tackle and use his strength to block inside.
Alabama’s 2020 recruiting class has not landed an offensive lineman yet, but they will aim to add a couple this class after reeling in five in the 2019 class.
