PODCAST: Who are Alabama’s most important defensive players for 2019?

Spring ball begins in two weeks.

For the University of Alabama, it’s time to return to the practice field and work on delivering fans of Crimson Tide a product it can be excited about.

After not finishing the job against Clemson, Nick Saban cleaned house and has hired a coaching staff full of experienced teachers and high energy guys.

Defensively, it was an unusual season for Alabama as it allowed over 100 yards rushing per game and gave up 18.1 points per contest – both are unacceptable for a Saban-coached unit.

Regardless of losing talent to the upcoming NFL Draft, the Tide returns veterans and has recruited highly capable freshmen for the job. With the motivation it has, Alabama intends on getting back to the College Football Playoff and winning a national championship next fall.

In Wednesday’s airing of In My Own Words, Stephen Smith of Touchdown Alabama Magazine breaks down his five most important defensive players for next season.
