Editor’s note: This is part one of an eight-piece series that will take a look at the entire team as Alabama heads into summer workouts. Register to view the premium content in this series. First up, we take a look at Alabama’s quarterback situation, which is one of the best in the country.
Projected depth chart
QB1: Tua Tagovailoa
QB2: Mac Jones
Young guys developing: Taulia Tagovailoa, Paul Tyson
What we like
Outside of Clemson, because Trevor Lawrence has to play at least two more years, Alabama has the best starting quarterback situation in college football. Tua Tagovailoa is back and ready to build on his sophomore year that saw him end up as a Heisman Trophy finalist.
Tagovailoa finished last season with 3,966 passing yards and 43 touchdowns to just six interceptions. Tagovailoa doesn’t have to top those numbers for Alabama to have a successful season. He’ll ultimately be judged on what he does if Alabama is able to make it back to the SEC Championship Game and the playoffs.
