Breaking: Seahawks Defensive Tackle Jarran Reed Undergoes Surgery

via: Joe Nicholson USA Today Sports

According to Ian Rapoport, Seattle Seahawks defensive tackle Jarran Reed underwent surgery this morning to fix a sports hernia. Reed’s surgery was performed by Dr. William Meyers in Philidelphia and is expected to be ready for training camp in 4-6 weeks.

The former second-round pick was one of Seattle’s best defensive players in 2018. He recorded 50 tackles and 10.5 sacks in his first season as a true starter.

Reed will likely be the teams next big contractual decision in the near future as he has proved to be an important part of their front seven. There is a good chance a deal may get worked out between the two for the Seahawks have just traded defensive end Frank Clark to the Kansas City Chiefs.
