T.J. Yeldon signs two-year contract with Buffalo Bills

James Lang - USA TODAY Sports

UPDATED: According to a report from Mike Rodak, an ESPN reporter for the Buffalo Bills, T.J. Yeldon’s contract is worth $3.2 million for two years with $500,000 guaranteed.

News came on Thursday morning, prior to the first-round of the 2019 NFL Draft.

T.J. Yeldon remains in the AFC, but he’s found a new home.

The former University of Alabama running back signed with the Buffalo Bills on Monday, according to a report from Adam Schefter of ESPN. With him citing sources, the Bills have agreed on a two-year contract for Yeldon – bringing him over from the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Prior to him being taken in the second-round of the 2015 NFL Draft, the native of Daphne, Ala., was a star for the Crimson Tide from 2012 to 2014. He totaled back-to-back 1,000-yard rushing seasons in 2012 and 2013, while ending his career being fifth all-time in yards with 3,322.

Yeldon tied the freshman mark in touchdowns (12) in 2012 and tallied 37 in three years, placing him fourth all-time in school history. He was a critical part of two Southeastern Conference Championships and a BCS National Championship during the 2012 season.

The former five-star was a first-team All-SEC selection in 2013 and with wide receiver Robert Foster – another former Tide standout – in place at Buffalo, the franchise gets its second major star in Yeldon.
