According to Ian Rapoport, Washington Redskins linebacker Reuben Foster underwent successful ACL surgery for a torn ACL and LCL earlier this morning. The surgery was performed by Dr. James Andrews who has repaired a number of famous athletes knees including Terrell Owens, Robert Griffen III and Redskins teammate Derrius Guice.
Foster was injured earlier this month during a jog through a drill at practice when he stepped on offensive lineman Tyler Catalina’s foot.
At the time of the injury, it was reported that Foster had suffered additional damage when he originally tore his ACL and it turned out to be his LCL. Unfortunately suffering both of these tears along the knee is very common.
Foster is already raising his leg and is expected to be ready to go for the 2020 regular season.
